Kurseong the town

Once the British left India and India got its independence in the 1950's then things changed,  and a lot of the buildings fell into dis-repair.
We had hoped to take the toy train from Siliguri to Kurseong but some land slides had blocked the track since 2011 and there was no money to make the repairs which was such a shame.
The train still runs from kurseong to Darjeelin but as an example it had been cancelled for the last two days due to an engine breakdown.
Kurseong itself is a very busy town filled with a strange mix of well dressed school children in smart uniforms with ties,  traders and very busy people rushing around us carrying everything from planks,  gas containers,  and food parcels balanced on their heads.
Most of the population look more Nepalise than Indian which is a result of being on the border with Nepal and what they call the him-ay-lees and what we call the himalayas.
I managed to get some pictures of the train station and trains.
